About Us

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (formerly Aurangabad) is the gateway to world heritage monuments like Ajanta and Ellora. The Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Cantonment Board (formerly Aurangabad Cantonment Board), established in 1890, is the municipal organization under the Ministry of Defence for the Cantonment area. The Cantonment Board is dedicated to providing better and transparent civic administration in the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Cantonment.

The motto of the Cantonment Board is “Prosperous Human Life.” The Cantonment is the greenest area of the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar city. The success of the Cantonment Board depends upon the participation of people in the mobilization and utilization of government resources with the aim of providing better civic services.

The total area of the Cantonment is 2,584 acres, with a civil population of 18,051 as per the 2011 census. The office of the Cantonment Board is located on the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar–Ahmednagar Highway.
